University Health Services

Student Services Building (SSB)
100 W Dean Keeton St, Austin TX, 78712

M-F 8-5pm (by appointment)

UHS consists of many departments. Urgent care, general medicine, women’s health, allergies and immunizations, health promotions, nutrition,  physical therapy, sports medicine, travel health,  radiology, laboratory, and a medical records department. Most health concerns apart from major medical emergencies can be treated here at a convenient location on campus, and better cost. Online scheduling makes UHS easily accessible  to fit within busy schedules.

Student Testimonials:

  • “Cancellation policy is really lax. You can cancel day-of without any penalties, but make sure it is a few hours ahead of time.”

  • “Arrive early to your appointments. Usually they run ahead of schedule (I have never seen them run late), so the earlier you’re in, the faster you can get out.”

  • “The women’s health clinic is the best resource I found here. They do all types of testing, gynecological exams, pap smears, birth control consultation and dispensation, and more. Really a good resource for those that need forms of protection but aren’t sure where to turn to.”

  • “UHS has flu shot clinics every year. It is by far the easiest way to get the flu shot in the Austin area. Just bring your insurance and it’s a smooth process.”

  • “The clinics offer appointment scheduling online. It’s so convenient and there’s usually a lot of available time slots to choose from.”

  • “STI testing is available here. Super good opportunity for safety!”

  • “They have student-pay prices for those that don’t have insurance, or would rather not have their insurance on file for the co-pay. They try to make it affordable for everyone to have access to it.”

  • “The nurses are so nice. Like seriously so nice.”

Forty Acres Pharmacy

Student Services Building (SSB)
100 W Dean Keeton St, Austin TX, 78712

M-F 9-6pm

The Forty Acres Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy on campus that works to fill prescriptions, transfer them, and sell various goods and snacks at affordable prices.

  • “I would really recommend the Forty Acres Pharmacy. They get you your prescriptions pretty fast (usually within the day), and have places for you to wait for it to be filled.

  • “They sell various toiletries, OTC medicines, drinks, and snacks at affordable prices. The employees also sit down with you to make sure you know how to properly take the medication, and when to take it. Usually lines are fairly short.”

  • “It takes about 45 minutes to fill your prescription if you’re coming directly from an appointment upstairs. I usually wait there to pick it up.”

  • “Highly underrated. Cheap snacks and random convenience store items you might need.”

  • “If you have an appointment at UHS, you can get your prescription filled anywhere, it doesn’t have to be there. However Forty Acres is the most convenient way to get my medicine, so I just use that.”

  • “Make sure you either have your insurance with you or it is already on file!”
