College Room Hacks
We all wish we didn’t have to live in glorified closets for four years, but at least you can use these hacks to make any room feel like home!
Hang a bedsheet in the corner of your room or between you and your roommate's beds. This makeshift private area can serve as a changing room, relaxation room, or nap area! Use a ribbon to tie the sheet up when you need to open up the space. As an added bonus, if you use a tapestry as the divider, your room gets an automatic glam up!
Does your room get smelly from all the open pizza boxes, unwashed clothes, and stuffy air? Just place a dryer sheet on your air conditioner or clip it on a small fan. The odor from the sheet will keep your air fresh and scentful.
If you don’t own an iron/iron board or simply never find the time to iron your shirts, this hack will save your life. Simply put the article of clothing on a hanger and hang it inside your shower where the stream of water will not directly hit it. The steam from your shower will smoothen the wrinkles and leave your clothing crisp and fresh! This trick is useful for those mornings you are running late.
If you are running out of shelf and drawer space on your desks or dressers, a simple shower caddy will do the trick. Hanging one of these with a command hook will allow you to free up some clutter from your desks. You can use this for school supplies, makeup, keys, etc. To make it look more presentable, use some Washi Tape to decorate the caddy.
If your necklaces and bracelets are constantly tangled, this is the hack for you. Use an ice cube tray to compartmentalize your jewelry. You could use separate ones for your earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. Stack them up in a drawer for easy, efficient, and organized storage.
With our crazy morning schedules, a grab-and-go breakfast is the way to go. Make life easier by using an over-the-door plastic shoe organizer to store your pantry snacks. You can hang it on the inside of your closet; this way, when you grab your shoes, a granola bar is just an arm’s-length away.
A great way to clear up drawer space is to fold your shirts and place them vertically in drawers. This way, no shirt is left hidden behind another. You can also roll your pants up and place them on top of each other in a drawer.
Hopefully some of these hacks help you organize your space in an efficient and smart way!
