Texas Public Health is a professional student organization at the University of Texas at Austin dedicated to: creating and connecting students to new experiences, preparing students for graduate studies and careers, and exposing students to the wide, complex science of public health. We are an organization for public health majors, pre-public health majors, and all people interested in public health. If you want to know more information check us out on our website: www.texaspublichealth.org
From April 6th to April 9th, Texas Public Health will host the 3rd annual Public Health Week on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Public Health Week is a nationally recognized observance during the first week of April that believes a healthier America begins today.
This is our organization’s flagship event during the spring semester, and the overarching theme this year is unity and partnerships. We want to spark interest in students and faculty who may not understand the role of public health in society and enhance the knowledge of all participants. The program will benefit the student body by promoting conversations on wellness, presenting sustainable lifestyle choices, and providing health education that highlights the pervasiveness of public health in everyday life.
Each day, there will be various events going on to highlight an aspect of public health and awareness of related issues.
